The cost of living in the Virgin Islands is among the highest anywhere under the American flag, and the reasons are structural. An unreliable, expensive power grid keeps electricity costs crushing despite billions in federal funding. The Jones Act drives up the price of nearly everything we import. Aging infrastructure and a housing shortage leave too many families squeezed. These are not accidents, they are the result of federal policies that were never built with us in mind.

• Secure dedicated federal funding to modernize and stabilize the power grid and accelerate renewable energy.
• Demand accountability and performance benchmarks for every federal dollar sent to WAPA.
• Advocate for Jones Act reform or targeted exemptions to cut shipping costs for residents.
• Accelerate the release of federal disaster-recovery housing funds.
• Champion the construction of affordable, disaster-resilient housing across the territory.
