The Federal Strategy · Section 9

For Too Long, the Virgin Islands Has Been an Afterthought in Federal Law.

Again and again, federal programs are written for the fifty states, and the territories are left out, underfunded, or forgotten. Housing assistance, infrastructure dollars, and equity programs too often arrive late, fall short, or never reach us at all. This is not bad luck. It is a structural inequity baked into how Washington treats us. Janelle will demand that the Virgin Islands be seen, counted, and treated fairly in every federal decision.

Janelle's Federal Strategy

Demanding Fair Treatment in Every Federal Decision

  • Hold federal agencies accountable for how programs and funding reach the territory.
  • Fight to include the Virgin Islands equitably in federal housing and infrastructure programs.
  • Challenge the structural inequities that leave territories underfunded.
  • Push for transparency and oversight on every federal dollar owed to us.
  • Ensure the Virgin Islands is never again treated as an afterthought.
The Goal

A Virgin Islands that is seen, counted, and treated fairly under federal law.
