The Federal Strategy · Section 12

A People Cannot Be Truly Free Until They Govern Themselves.

The Virgin Islands deserves greater control over its own future. For generations, the rules that govern our lives have been written elsewhere, by people who do not live here and do not answer to us. As a Senator, Janelle helped establish the Sixth Constitutional Convention, advancing the territory's pursuit of self-governance. She will continue that fight at the federal level, advocating for a Virgin Islands constitution and a path to self-determination shaped by the will of the people, not imposed from outside.

Janelle's Federal Strategy

Advancing Self-Governance and the Constitution

  • Advance the Sixth Constitutional Convention and the work of self-governance.
  • Advocate at the federal level for a Virgin Islands constitution.
  • Pursue greater self-governance and self-determination for our people.
  • Provide federal leadership and guidance to support the process.
  • Ensure our future is shaped by the will of the people, not imposed from outside.
The Goal

A Virgin Islands that governs itself, by the will of its own people.
